The African Tourism Union
The African Tourism Union is a membership organization made up of 24 African countries. Working directly with their Embassies, Ambassadors, Bureaus of Tourism and Trade, we have come together to properly promote tourism and investment in Africa. The African Tourism Union was formed to fill a huge void in the African tourism market. In 2019, African Americans spent $20 billion in international travel, but less than 2% of that went to Africa.
We look to change this.
There are multiple reasons why this is the case, but the biggest one is that it's not on our radar. Most African countries do not have the money to market effectively within the United States. Therefore, we don't see the great places to visit, all the activities to do on the continent, or the economic opportunities. We are embarking on a mission to change this. We have formed a coalition of African nations who will work together to shine a light on Africa and all that it has to offer. We plan to leverage this platform to boost tourism, harnessing its potential to catalyze economic growth across the continent.
