1. U.S. – Nigeria Infrastructure Conference: The Corporate Council on Africa is hosting a conference about the upcoming infrastructure projects in Nigeria. Project opportunities will involve Roads, Rail, Housing and Water. The venue is the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, Northwest, Washington, DC 20008 during October 10 – 11. For more information go to www.africacncl.org. 2. Allied with Community Bankers: The NBCC is very worried about the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Transaction Account Guarantee program. If this banking funded program is not extended beyond December 31, 2012, your bank accounts will no longer be insured. Here is a letter from the President/CEO of the Independent Community Bankers of America thanking us for our support of this issue. 3. Not too Late to Register to Vote: Please encourage your employees and family members to register to vote in the upcoming election. If they are not already registered you can refer to a posted spreadsheet that details the last day to register on a state by state basis. 4. Early Bird Registration Date: The early registration date for the PanAfrican Entrepreneurs Conference has been extended to October 5, 2012. Those registering by that date will pay $295.
