Progress Report August 7, 2012 Print

1.  A Pan African Nation: We spent last week in Trinidad Tobago and enjoyed every second of it.  Our hosts, The Emancipation Support Group, headed by Kafra Kambon were truly comprehensive in their program and gracious to us and the other speakers.  In addition to all of this, we were introduced to the President of Nigeria, Honorable Goodluck Jonathan, and the Prime Minister of Trinidad, Honorable Kamla Persad-Bissessar.  “Frosting on the cake” came when Kafra announced the beginning stages of a NBCC chapter in the nation.  God bless Trinidad Tobago and we look forward to many returns in the future.  Look forward to my article in the future entitled “Notes from Trinidad Tobago”.

2.  A Great Opportunity: On August 29, 2012 at 11:30AM, Clark/Smoot/Russell Joint Venture, Construction Manager for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), is hosting a networking opportunity for small businesses to meet with potential bidders for the Structural Steel and Above Ground Mechanical and Electrical packages.  In addition, learn about contracting opportunities for Fire Sprinkler, Jack and Boring and Geothermal Wells.  Networking begins at 11:30AM on the construction site in the CSR Conference Trailer located at Constitution Avenue and 15th Street NW, Washington, DC.  Any questions contact Chrystal Stowe at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
