WASHINGTON, DC – This week Representative Jeff Lewis introduced HB 227, the “Consumer Choice for Television Act” in the Georgia House of Representatives. This bill would reform the process of video franchising in Georgia, paving the way for new entrants into the market and giving more choice to consumers.
The following statement issued in response can be attributed to Harry Alford, President of the National Black Chamber of Commerce:
“This bill certainly will be for the benefit of the citizens of Georgia. Availability, quality and affordability are the key words here. Wherever such legislation has been passed, the consumers and businesses have greatly enjoyed the results.”
