1. Let’s Kill the Estate Tax:  We have joined with other associations in a move to eliminate the vicious Estate Tax.  This is taxation on monies left by individuals who have already been taxed (net-net money).  It can eat up as much as 45% of your estate left to your loved ones.  Chairman Mike Little and President/CEO Harry C. Alford will participate in a Press Conference about this issue tomorrow in Room 485 Russell Senate Building tomorrow at 10:00AM.  All are invited. (more) 

2. SBA 8(a) Public Hearings:  The SBA will be having “Listening Tours” regarding proposed changes in the 8(a) program between now and the end of January.  The cities of Washington, DC, New York, Seattle, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Albuquerque and Chicago will be venues.  Those wanting to participate in the DC hearings this Thursday and Friday should contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. 3. New NBCC Structure:  For the year 2010, we will be unveiling a new management program for the NBCC in the coming weeks.  Part of it will be a new Regional Structure that will involve ten Regional Vice President positions to help manage and nurture our affiliated chapters.  The following is the regional breakdown.

Region 1:  Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut

Region 2:  New York, New Jersey

Region 3:  Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, DC

Region 4:  Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South   

                  Carolina, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands

Region 5:  Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan

Region 6:  Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico

Region 7:  Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas

Region 8:  Colorado, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota

Region 9:  Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Guam, Samoa, Marianas

Region 10:  Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska
