Harry C. Alford - August 31, 2009: Across the nation, job loss and economic strife are themes of the day. In South Carolina alone, unemployment is locked in double-digits. Accordingly, the American public is calling for sharp solutions to these hard-wrought problems. But it seems the best Congress can do is introduce a climate bill that pushes gasoline prices closer to $4 a gallon and cuts millions of jobs each year across America. These are not the kind of “solutions” our nation needs, no matter the economic climate.
