1. Hudson Institute Issues Bad News: According to Tim Kane of the Hudson Institute, “The number of new businesses peaked at 667,000 in 2006, then dropped to 548,000 in 2009 and to 505,000 in 2010. The number of new jobs created by start-ups fell to 2.8 million in 2009 then to 2.6 million in 2010, an all-time low.” We pray that the upcoming 113th Congress will have a more urgent agenda such as clearing needless regulation and make an environment conducive to good business activity. Certainly, we have been going in the wrong direction. International Trade is also an option. 2. Equatorial Guinea is Rapidly Growing: This West African nation has the fastest growing GDP on the African Continent and ranks among the best in the world. Its income per capita is $19,000. Quickly it is entering the 2nd world as an industrial nation. The Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy has encouraged the NBCC to “bring your businesses to Equatorial Guinea and we will show you the vast opportunities in projects, partnerships and revenue”. The minister will be a keynote speaker at our PanAfrican Entrepreneurs Conference during November 15 – 18, 2012 in Houston, Texas. Participants at the conference will be eligible to participate in an upcoming Trade Mission to the nation early next year. For more information on this nation visit our website. 3.
