1. Court Action on EPA: We have joined forces with other organizations in an attempt to stop the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from enacting the Utility MACT Rule on our utility companies. This would have a devastating financial impact on our suppliers who do business with various utility companies in our great nation and would also have a very negative impact in terms of job loss. We are before the courts and hopefully we will win in this noble effort. 2. Your Support of the NBCC: We don’t run on “fumes”. However, we give an immense “bang for the buck” in our efforts to be the voice of capitalism and business growth in the African American community. People are amazed by what we do with so little resources. It is pure devotion. Thus, the membership dues that we receive from you go a very long way in improving the plight of Black business and wealth. When we started, in 1993, there were 300,000 Black owned businesses doing $33 billion per year in revenue. Today, the Census Bureau tells us there are now 1.9 million Black owned businesses doing over $137 billion in yearly revenues. It is quite evident that we are indeed making a difference. As this year ends, we want to thank each and every one of you who take the time to contribute to our worthy cause. Your tax deductible membership dues will be well spent into the mission of the National Black Chamber of Commerce. Kindly, take a look at our membership options and consider being a part of the “fuel” that runs the NBCC. We ask the “pure at heart” to contribute your annual dues between now and January 15, 2012. It is so simple via doing it online. God bless you all! |
