Our week in Kenya was most productive. We have learned of the greatness of the Vision 2030 Project. The nation will be building new cities; freeways and open highways; schools; hospitals; dams and reservoirs; an oil pipeline from Southern Sudan to the coastal town of Lamu (a new deep water port will be built) just to name a few. All minerals must be processed within Kenya beginning 2012 which means new iron and steel mills and precious metals getting value added treatment by the citizens of origin. They are going to build over 300,000 new homes. It is so exciting and the demand for entrepreneurs is overwhelming compared to the current capacity of Kenya. That is where we come in. They want our businesses to join in this renaissance. “For example, we will need all the architects and engineers you have”, exclaimed Mugo Kibati, Director-General of Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, to our contingent. IT, engineering of all types, architects, construction management, general contracting, environmental management, water treatment, telecom, healthcare, security, waste management, various training programs and all the professional services you can think of. Whatever is in a typical city; it will be needed here. We also had the opportunity to meet principals from Southern Sudan. On July 9, 2011, the newly formed nation of Southern Sudan will come into existence. It has been a very long struggle and much suffering has come to these people with a biblical legacy. The United States wisely stuck with them and remained a devoted friend. Now, the time has come to build up this newly formed nation and they consider us an ally in this. Thus, there will be immense opportunities for our business owners here also. We had a very warm meeting with Benjamin Bol, Chairman of the Southern Sudan Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture along with Ambassador Emmanuel LoWilla. During our 19th Annual Convention in Miami, July 21 – 23, 2011, principals of the above two nations will give workshops on how to go about taking advantage of these opportunities. The NBCC has committed to being an ongoing resource to the agencies of these nations and a matchmaker between their firms and ours. It all begins in Miami and from there we will construct a database of interested firms and will assist in inquiries and the marketing of their skills. It will be ongoing but it starts in Miami. Come and get a jump on it from the start. Register for the convention online www.nationalbcc.org and call the hotel at 305-358-3535 and reserve your hotel room at the 5 star Four Seasons for only $150 per night. This rate will go off by June 28 or may get sold out sooner – call today! LET’S GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL!! |
