As we say in church, “God may not come when you want him; but he is always on time”. Last Tuesday America roared with a vengeance. The majority has said that we demand a better economy replete with business friendly legislation and policy. We demand an economy that will generate new business investment and jobs by the millions and will out-compete foreign enterprises to the point of making America stronger than ever. An economy that has its debt under control. Unions are 14% of our business population and that will remain their place. Free enterprise is what made us and free enterprise will be the vehicle to take us further. Let all of the entrepreneurs of America feel invigorated and approach Washington, DC with an energized style. Any elected official trying to turn America into a “flunky” for organized labor will have a very short career from this day forward. Any elected official trying to convert this great country into a bastion of socialism or even Marxist lite will find his/her actions short lived. You can come to DC but you will not stay too long! We are going to hit Capitol Hill like I-40 going west. We will meet with the newly elected pro-business Congressional members as well as with the tried and true “pure at heart”. We may even convert a few CBC members as their “overseers” are in disarray and their districts rapidly convert to pro-business sectors demanding better. Yes, the times are truly changing. During our Fall Summit (next week) our Board of Directors will construct a game plan to take advantage of the changes generated by the recent elections. We will walk out with a game plan that will make the NBCC a strong leader in business development and opportunities for our constituents. The hearings, policy changes, advocacy will be greater than ever before. Our finest hour is coming right before us and we are ready. If any of you have suggestions for our policy formation, submit them immediately to Charles at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
