CEMENT (WET) SOIL MIXING FOR MAIN PUMPING STATION GROUND IMPROVEMENT The Blue Plains Tunnel (BPT) is one component of the DC Water CSO Long Term Control Plan (LTCP) program. Traylor Skanska Jay Dee (TSJD) Joint Venture has been awarded this component. The primary purpose of the BPT is to store combined sewer overflows and convey them to a pumping station at the downstream end of the tunnel. The design includes an approximately 24,000 foot-long-tunnel with five (5) shafts located along the tunnel alignment. Two (2) of the shafts will be located at the Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant (BPAWWTP). The purpose of this package is for design and installation of soil mixing in vicinity of existing utilities prior to slurry wall installation at the Main Pumping Station site.
